چکیده

Background: Most patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) are diagnosed at late stages despite of improvement screening programs and lack effective diagnostic methods for cases preclinical HCC leads to a low rate early detection. Aldo-keto reductase family 1 member B10 (AKR1B10) is associated several types cancer. However, our knowledge, the significance AKR1B10 measurement in stage has poorly understood.
 Aim
To evaluate performance serum hepatitis C virus (HCV)-related liver disorders its unique role diagnosing HCC.
 Methods
Serum was detected by sandwich ELISA 30 HCV-related HCC, HCV related cirrhosis, 20 healthy controls. Both α-fetoprotein (AFP) levels were analyzed, evaluated compared.
 Results
significantly elevated compared with. The sensitivity (86.7.0%) specificity (70%) diagnosis high cutoff value 0.945 ng/ml, while alpha fetoprotein had 67% 88% detection among studied groups point higher than 17.9. ng/ml. Furthermore, concurrent Alpha increased 97.6% 100% ≥150 AFP negative predictive diagnosis.
 Conclusions
we concluded current study that as biomarker early-stage HCC. Compared alone, combination an

Expression of Aldo-Keto Reductase Family 1 Member B10 in the Early Stages of Human Hepatocarcinogenesis

Aldo-keto reductase family 1, member B10 (AKR1B10), a cancer-related oxidoreductase, is expressed in well-differentiated hepatocellular carcinomas (HCCs). However, AKR1B10 levels are minimal in normal liver tissues (NLs), similar to the 70-kilodalton heat shock protein (HSP70) and glypican-3. Moreover, the role of AKR1B10 in chronic hepatitis or cirrhosis, which are considered preneoplastic con...

Aldo-Keto Reductase Family 1 Member B10 Inhibitors: Potential Drugs for Cancer Treatment

Cytosolic NADPH-dependent reductase AKR1B10 is a member of the aldo-keto reductase (AKR) superfamily. This enzyme is normally expressed in the gastrointestinal tract. However, it is overexpressed in many solid tumors, such as hepatocarcinoma, lung cancer and breast cancer. AKR1B10 may play a role in the formation and development of carcinomas through multiple mechanisms including detoxification...

Up-regulated aldo-keto reductase family 1 member B10 in chronic hepatitis C: association with serum alpha-fetoprotein and hepatocellular carcinoma

BACKGROUND Elevated serum alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) is not only a diagnostic marker for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), but is also a risk factor for HCC in chronic hepatitis C patients who do not have HCC. AIM The aim was to analyse the hepatic gene expression signature in chronic hepatitis C patients with elevated AFP, who were at high risk for HCC. METHODS Liver tissue samples from 48 chro...

Aldo-keto reductase family 1, member B10 is secreted through a lysosome-mediated non-classical pathway.

AKR1B10 (aldo-keto reductase family 1, member B10) protein is primarily expressed in normal human small intestine and colon, but overexpressed in several types of human cancers and considered as a tumour marker. In the present study, we found that AKR1B10 protein is secreted from normal intestinal epithelium and cultured cancer cells, as detected by a newly developed sandwich ELISA and Western ...

Regulation of aldo-keto-reductase family 1 B10 by 14-3-3ε and their prognostic impact of hepatocellular carcinoma.

14-3-3ε is overexpressed in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and its expression significantly associates with a poor prognostic outcome. To uncover how 14-3-3ε contributes to the tumor progression of HCC, we investigated the potential downstream targets regulated by 14-3-3ε. We found that 14-3-3ε increases expression and nuclear translocation of β-catenin and that 14-3-3ε-induced cell proliferati...
